“Reconstructing Erotica via Post-tradition” departs from the interests of exploring erotic art by means of tinkering the standards and orders in traditions to go beyond its evolutionary progress. It pertains to bringing out the uniqueness of erotic art from viewpoints aroused by traditions, yet eminently underlines the autonomy of the artist while also spurring various thoughts on issues and questions in the artistic and social spheres.

The rarity of exploration of erotic works contrasts with the possibilities of visual richness that can be sourced from traditions and identified with matters in the contemporary culture. Through the works from “Reconstructing Erotica via Post-Tradition”, it is hoped various new and in-depth avenues will be offered by the artists in order to amplify the investigations into contemporary visual art by expanding local traditional ideas, as well as various issues that branch off from the discussion of erotica.
